FYI – Human ancestors have identity crisis.

Early members of the human evolutionary family may really be apes hiding in plain sight, two anthropologists say.

Ramapithecus belonged to a hominid until further finds pegged it as an orangutan ancestor.

Oreopithecus, designated a hominid about 50 years ago had been unmasked as an ape.
