The Little Current congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses will soon say goodbye to their former place of worship and welcome a new Kingdom Hall at its Wilson Street property.

In the next few weeks, residents will see the former Kingdom Hall demolished and a new one built in its stead.

Arson of the building of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Komi Republic

In the Orel region, searches, arrest and a criminal case under article extremism against Jehovah’s Witnesses

On May 25, 2017 in Orel, at least 15 armed people, including FSB agents, entered the house where local Jehovah’s Witnesses were. Law enforcers reported that a criminal case under art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (continuation of the organization, which was banned for extremism). One of the believers is arrested.

Jehovah’s Witness gets high court to explain law on sacred scriptures

The Constitutional Court turned down an appeal by Vladimir Sergienko, who challenged the provision about texts of sacred scriptures and the right of prosecutors to deny citizens who seek a prohibition of materials for extremism, while it provided an important explanation.

On 20 April 2017, the Russian Constitutional Court issued a determination on an appeal by Vladimir Sergienko, who challenged point 3 of part 1 of article 128 of the Code of Administrative Proceedings and article 3.1 of the federal law on combating extremist activity (prohibition of banning some sacred scriptures).
